How to use

Click the flask icon at the top right of your browser (or press Alt+Shift+I). Point at any word, name, heading, link, image or control. Click to pin the panel; clicks never operate the page while Info Mode is on. Drag or double-click to select text and get facts about the selection. Esc unpins, Esc again exits.

What leaves this browser

Quick facts come from Wikipedia. The pointed-at word or phrase (up to 120 characters) is sent to Wikipedia; the surrounding text is used only inside the browser to pick the right meaning. Nothing is sent for elements with no fact lookup, and nothing is sent to Virtual SFX Lab.

Look up while hovering. On, facts appear after a short pause over a word. Off, the word is sent only when you click to pin, select text or move keyboard focus to an element. Turn this off on private pages such as webmail or intranets.

Ask AI (optional)

Quick facts come from Wikipedia and need no account. To enable the Ask AI button, add your own Perplexity API key. It is stored only in this browser and billed by Perplexity to you. The subject you point at (or the selected passage, up to 1,500 characters) and up to 1,200 characters of surrounding text are sent to Perplexity only when you press Ask AI. The button answers once every few seconds per tab.
